Part of the SJ Attack's Vision for our kids is to help them build skills not just on the field but also off to become leaders in our communities. With that goal in mind, the Attack is partnering with my family's non profit (Coco's Light) this week to participate in an event we call "Cakes For Coco." My cousin, Colleen "Coco" Moon, passed away unexpectedly in 2020 at the age of 30. Her birthday is April 1st and we decided that instead of sitting around being sad we would celebrate by challenging family members to go out to their local bakery or grocery store and anonymously a pay for a stranger's preordered birthday cake. Some of us wrote notes to go along with the cake for when it was picked up and some of us told the clerk to just wish the person a Happy Birthday. We had so much fun doing this that we've made it an annual event. In the few years that we have done this we have reached from NJ to Alaska - believe it or not we've even had people donate to dog rescues and touched the lives of children in the Ukraine through pay if forward types of actions (stories to come). So in the spirit of giving, the Attack has partnered with Century Bakery in Bridgeton to help us out. Century Bakery has been in business for over 90 years and gives 100% of their profits to local nonprofit organizations that serve children and families!!! So here's how you can participate:
RULES: Get your kids involved and HAVE FUN!Let me know of any stories you have, take pictures of the cakes you pay for if you can. I'll be posting stories from the past and present daily. This runs through Wednesday, April 3rd. Thanks all!
Libby

South Jersey Attack Lacrosse is proud to announce our partnership with the Philadelphia Wings Professional Lacrosse Team in cooperation with Inspira Health System's Sticks for Schools Program. We have met with leaders from both organizations and have confirmed our participation for the Fall of 2023.
This program will provide equipment, instruction, free travel/admission to a Philadelphia Wings game. We have signed up not just one but two teams - both boys and girls, which qualifies us to receive the benefits for both programs. More information to follow as soon as it becomes available..........
Today SJ Attack was privileged to be invited to the official unveiling of the “Sticks for Students” program sponsored by Inspira Health System and the Philadelphia Wings. This program is going to provide our program some needed equipment, additional instruction and even tickets and a bus to a Wings game this season. As you can see, there were many dignitaries present including the mayors of Bridgeton, Millville and Vineland, representatives from Inspira administration and several of our very own Millville High School Lacrosse players and parents. The Prosecutor for Cumberland County was present and gave full support for the program. The Philadelphia Wings not only brought staff and a cheerleader to unveil the jersey but, Wingston and player, Mitch Jones came to hang out with the kids. We would like to thank Inspira and the Philadelphia Wings for allowing us to be a part of this celebration.
After some time, we are finally looking forward to getting this program started. We are waiting on confirmation for field space, but other than that, I think we are all in.
If you have a son or daughter who is interested in playing or learning to play lacrosse, please reach out to me. Clinics will be starting very soon and we look forward to having this program up and running by mid May at the latest.
The only contingency to participate at this point is that your son or daughter needs to be a member of US Lacrosse. That is strictly for insurance reasons. The fee is minimal, but they are automatically protected under the policy by US Lacrosse.
If anyone has any difficulty paying the membership, please let me know. I look forward to hearing any comments or suggestions you might have for the upcoming spring/summer clinic sessions.
As always thank you for your support.
